Nearby attractions from Burraghutu: Around 4 kms. from Burraghutu is the little-known village of Ambikanagar, which was once a pilgrimage for Jains in Bengal. Now, only ruins of the Jain temples and lonely statues of Pareshnath can be seen scattered on Pareshnath Hill. Ambikanagar is also famous for its Dokra and Terracotta works. A 30 kms. drive from Buraghuutu through the dense Sal forests of Makhnu and Belgeria would take you to Kuilapal Forest Village. The drive is one of the most enchanting experiences you can have in the forests of Bankura.
Things to do in Burraghutu: Here, you can take walks along the riverside or visit the nearby handicraft villages to see how tribal work on their Dokra and terracotta creations. How to reach Burraghutu: You can board trains to Bankura Junction (around 50 kms. away), which is the nearest major rail head of Buraghuutu. You can take regular trains from Howrah like Rupashi Bangla Express to reach Bankura Station. If you are taking the road, then avail Durgapur Expressway (AH1) till Durgapaur and then take NH314 through Bankura to reach Burraghutu. Kolkata is around 260 kms. from Buraghuutu by road.
