Kfaer Gaon is in Loleygaon (also spelt Lolegaon) is a beautiful Lepcha hamlet located at an elevation of 1,675 meters with a population of 5000 residents. Kafer is the Lepcha name for Loleygaon. It is just 6km away from Lolegaon Village in Neora Valley Forest circuit. Mt.Kanchenjunga is visible from Kafer Gaon Homestay Loleygaon, we have expanded orchid garden with lots of colorful orchid.
The stay has tastefully built main house and cottages. Each room has comfortable bed and attached western type washroom. Local cuisine is available at the kitchen and served at common dining. Or you can prefer the open-air dining like us. Nature walking, Enjoying the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga, Visiting nearby villages amidst the pine forests. Canopy Walk is located around a kilometre from the bus stand at Loleygaon, in the middle of the forest full of fir, Oak, birch and cypress are inter-connected foot bridges. With a total length of 180 meters, the hanging bridges from one tree to another help the visitors to view the beauty of the forest from a height. These bridges keep on swinging continuously, so tourists with the problem of dizziness should take precaution.
Loleygaon Located forty-five kilometers from Kalimpong Town this place of scenic beauty can be reached by bus or taxi in two and a half hours. Located in the Gram panchayat of Kaffer-Kankebong, it is a delight to tourists with its Wildlife, Jungle walks through the forests, a hanging bridge inside the dense forest, and a breathtaking view of Kalimpong Town. You can also visit Lava,Charkhole,Kalimpong,Samthar.
How to Reach
Nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) and nearest railway station is New Mal Jn. (NMZ) another nearest rail head is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), these are well connected with rest of India. Direct car/taxis are available up to Kaffer Village from Bagdogra airport, NJP and Siliguri (125 K.M), it will take around 4-4.5 hrs. to reach. Shared taxis/jeeps are available up to Kalimpong only from Siliguri. The village located just 45 K.M away from Kalimpong and may take around one to one and half hour to reach. Another alternate route to Kaffer Village via Lava, distance around 60 K.M.
