Sikia Jhora is a river stream flowing through near the wet dense Forest of Buxa Reserve. Sikia Jhora at the Dooars region of the Alipurduar district still remains hidden and untouched by many. Sikia Jhora is situated at a serene and least populated area of the Buxa. Tourists enjoy boat safaris at the river stream surrounded by the dense forest of Buxa. Tourists also name the Sukia Jhora water stream surrounded by forests as mini Sundarban and the locals say tigers are sometimes seen by the corners of the stream to fetch water.

Sikia Jhora is a river stream flowing through near the wet dense Forest of Buxa Reserve in the Dooars region of the Alipurduar district. The Sikia Jhora Dooars is situated at a serene and least populated area of the Dooars region.

The river flows down through near the forest area with the branches of the trees lining across the river. The branches of the tall trees bends down over the river. The low branches over the river transforms the area into dark, not allowing the sunlight to penetrate through them. The locals of the area takes the tourists for boat safaris into the river Sikia Jhora. Tourists come here to experience boat rides and some even name it as mini Sundarban.

The sounds of various insects and birds along with shades of the trees and sunlight falling over the river makes it picture perfect. Animals as leopard, tigers, gang of elephants, deer and other animals makes their way to the river to drink water. Moreover, snakes can be seen swimming on the river waters, mostly during the rainy seasons. The openings in between the dense forest borders can be very clearly noticed. The locals claim that they have seen tigers visiting near the river to satisfy their thirst.

The Sikia Jhora Dooars have a small bending curve on its way through the river where tourists come and move a few distance into the forest. The empty space near the river allows tourists to spend a resting time on the benches kept on the side. The calm ambiance along with the cool winds blowing soothes one. Although, the river remains full almost throughout the year but the river with its calm water flows to the a longer stretch. And travelers are seen to enjoy the boat safari to the fullest.

There lies a small restaurant near the river serving freshly prepared foods to the travelers. The foods they prepare consist of minimum use of spices and tastes well. The lady cooks of the restaurant provides a complete family experience and they also cooks the vegetables brought by the visitors. The tourists can also avail snacks as chips, cold drinks, chocolates and few more.
