Glenburn is a heavenly little plantation retreat that lies on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, high in the Himalayas, overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range. Started by a Scottish tea company in 1859, Glenburn then passed into the hands of one of India’s pioneering tea planting families – The Prakashes. Today, the third and fourth generation Prakash family carry almost a century of tea knowledge in their inheritance, and they invite you to experience this legacy at Glenburn. The “tea estate” experience was inspired by the vineyards of  Europe and other parts of the world, where visitors observe the wine-making process, taste the wine and shop for wine, local crafts and produce. The whole experience is educational and very interesting, and were inspired by that the family opened their tea estate for tourists.

Glenburn is the place where you can just sit back in the balcony with a book and a cup of tea. It also takes the guest for walks in the plantation where they can experience the entire process of tea making starting from plucking. The estate provides guided hiking, angling in river Rungeet. However, the most interesting is full body massage using Darjeeling Green Tea Oil which is folowed by a Green Tea bath or soak .

Views of the mountains are clearest from October to March. Days are generally remain sunny through most of the year, even when the temperature drops. Guests require warm woollens during the winter months and lighter sweater in the summer and monsoon months. Temperature drops after rain.

The tea estate has nine different catagories of rooms and the tariff includes all activites except Spa charges and also includes all major food, snacks and tea services. The tariff includes car facilities.
